The Wretched Hive of Scum and Villainy that is...The Blognet

Jay (Citking)

Jay is a pest, plain and simple. All the boy does is complain about this and that: Apple, conservatives, people he doesn't even know, etc. But all in all, he is a good guy.

Jay was born and raised mostly in the Milwaukee, Wisconsin area. An avid music lover, he is a propnent of (good) local music and loves pretty much anything that could be classified under the heading of alternative music, including ska, emo, hard rock, acoustic, what have you. The only bands he really cannot stand are Radiohead, Creed, White Stripes, and Dave Matthews. In his "spare" time he likes to mess with programming, read a good novel, or sit around and watch COPS reruns far into the night....

Tino (Special K)

Tino hails from a small, rural town in Southwest Wisconsin known as Bloomington. When he isn't being a 'ladies man' Tino likes to play on his Mac, listen to some Reel Big Fish, and maintain the Y105sucks website.

As the ex-program director over at WSUP, Tino took charge of the radio station's playlist and expanded it greatly. He is an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and, unlike all the other Blognet members, thinks the Green Bay Packers are overrated. In his free time Tino can usually be found drinking, playing video games, and avoiding all that homework he'll be getting at Winona come next Fall.

Brandon (Malechite)

Poor Brandon. He has known Platteville all his life and it shows big-time! A big fan of Nine Inch Nails, Stabbing Westward, Tool, Garbage and Evanescence, Brandon is the guy who straddles the fine line between Mac and PC users...he uses both consistently. An avid photographer, his website is loaded with many awesome images taken in and around Southwest Wsconsin.

When he isn't messing around with web pages or working at Netux, Brandon can usually be found in the Second Street bars, no doubt with some woman (girl?) hanging all over him. He also likes to grab a concert when he has the time and come up with new, exciting radio production for WSUP.

Dan (Danimal)

Dan is a mystery man. As the drummer for the local Platteville band Envy, Dan frequently is hanging in and around any happening music scene. When his arms aren't flailing all over the place, Dan likes to sit down, grab some Madden or old school computer games such as Doom (yes, the original), and spend time with his son, Gavin.

Nicknamed "The Danimal", Dan really is the life of a party even though he comes off as aloof and soemtimes reserved (He is probably the calmest member of the Blognet as well!). As the token "non-techie" of the Blognet, Dan gets enough practice maintaining Envy's website and posting in the band diary from time to time.

Alex (Radiospy)

Alex, the brother of Tino, is another avid Mac user. A strong proponent of Apple's, he's always there to set Jay straight about his misconceptions. Also known as The Radiospy, Alex spends most of his time playing classic console games, watching horror movies, and dabbling around in the art of filmmaking. He's also a huge Spongebob and Family Guy fan as well.

Alex is guy to turn to if you ever have any serious, in-depth quesations regarding Mac OS X. At the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's Resnet, he sends out the Weekly Mac Tip to help the other network consultants stay on top of troubleshooting problems.

Scott (The Whipping Boy)

The master of destruction himself. Frequently found in an obscure bar on 2nd street holding a glass of beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, Scott is the life of any party. Quick-witted, he is not as disillusioned as the rest of the Blognet and will tell you what he really thinks! That is, when he isn't aiming towards Janesville and ending up in Rockford...but that's another story for another day.

The master of all things communication, Scott is a bona-fide production guru. Give this guy a studio, some sound effects, and maybe some alcohol (while certainly not required, it does speed the process up) and he will crank out the funniest sounders you have ever heard. A fast wit on the radio waves, Scott loved to give the weather forecast in Hell (It's raining syphyllis) and has an on-air presence like none other. Currently Scott is thought to be dead, lying next to Bobcat in a remote ditch somewhere in rual Wisconsin with, you guessed it - a beer on one hand and a cigarette in the other.

Kevin (Bobcat)

Kevin Garthwaite, aka Bobcat, loves the ladies. Luckily for the rest of the members of Blognet, there have been many ladies that have loved him back. Because if all those ladies hadn't wanted a piece of the "cat", he would have ended up being the gayest man in town. Seriously though, Kevin is a good communicator and an ambitious worker.

If Kevin isn't working on his sports talk show, having a Pabst at the Gamehendge, or cooking a fine lady supper, he's probably educating the people around him with one of his many elaborate theories.

Chad (Hamms)

Hamms is an a**hole who speaks his mind. He lives in the bumf*** town of Belmont and has no real special talents, He can't play drums like Dan Moris, can't pass gas at will like Tino, and can't repulse women like Mike Lyons (Hamms was born with repulsion while Mike learned his; Therefore Hamms has a gift and Mike has a talent.)

Hamms still works at WPVL in Platteville WI as a part time fill in person, though he may be continuing his education this fall at SWTC. Hamms like Boobies and Jack Daniels though not always in that order. Hamms also likes sports, namely the Green Bay Packers, St. Louis Cardinals, and Utah Jazz. If you want more info you can go f*** yourself (Hamms may also be an aspiring Veep Candidate.)

Mike (Bubble)

Mike grew up in the little town of Potosi, known for three things: high school baseball, catfish...and beer. And although he does love his home state of Wisconsin, he is actually the only blognetter NOT to live in the Midwest. Mike currently makes his year-round residence in Mesa, Arizona. Yes, it IS a "dry heat."

Mike enjoys using his semi-celebrity status (he currently works overnights on 101.5 The Zone in Phoenix) to hang out with Playboy Playmates, and with famous bands. No really, he does get to hang out with them. And he enjoys his job too...getting to listen to great music, and screw around for 5 hours a night. He even gets paid for it.

Mike also joins Dan in the "token non-techie" category of Blognetters. Seriously, the guy is pretty useless. Thankfully, the rest of the Blognet is helpful enough to take care of his questions. And, like Jay, Mike dislikes Apples (the computer, not the fruit), George Bush, and stupid people.

Kathleen (Sarkathstic)

Like the vast majority of females, Kathleen buys shoes: Lots of them. She is the essence of "Legally Blonde", down to the pink fetish and the crazy desire to become a lawyer. Active as a Gamme Phi Beta (I wanted to say KAE but I won't go there!) she gossips behind everyone's backs and causes mayhem in her Red Mazda.

Kathleen is, to date, the ONLY female who even remotely wants to associate herself with the rest of the Blognet. While not lusting after a pink mini iPod and her "study buddy" Kathleen spends the majority of her time studying and stressing out over law schools. She is the master at dodging bullets in the ghetto and has a lot of really fine-looking friends.

Rob (Rob)

Robert Callahan was born in Lancaster, WI nearly a quarter century ago, and he celebrates 25 years of excellence on August 7th. He really didn't know what he wanted to do when he arrived at UW-Platteville...and it showed. Spending six years at UW-P and earning 185 credits, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Technologies.

Rob's claim to fame is he worked for the UW-Platteville Pioneers men's basketball team his freshman and sophomore years. Not only does he know Bo Ryan personally, he keeps a 1999 national championship ring in his sock drawer. Rob occasionally works at WPVL with fellow BlogNet member Chad Henneman. They do their best to field the phone calls of all the cranky old people. Rob was elected to the Lancaster Board of Education at 19 and has served as board clerk since 2001. Rob greatly enjoys eating food, except foods with mayonnaise, and peas.

Wes (Wamsley)

This is a true story of one stranger, picked to live in a house to find out what happens when people stop being polite and start getting real. The Real World with Wes Wamsley. Wes comes from the country-side of Cassville, Wisconsin. Raised in a farm setting, he never actually farmed a whole lot because he just didn't like it. Wes plans to trade in his Blue-Collar shirt for a White-Collar shirt, or a shirt with a mix of the two, and a nice logo above the pocket.

Wes is a devoted person who aims high for his goals but finds himself falling short many times. He hopes to change that now that now since he is fresh out of high school and right into the real world. Perhaps the youngest member of blognet currently, he is venturing to Minnesota where he will join Tino at attending Winona State University and taking the campus by storm. This man is very creative and loves to express that in anyway possible. He hopes to have a career in movie making or working for some tv show, or have an extremely successful website franchise. This guy has many paths right now, and its all a matter of time until he chooses one.
